In the beginning of September, I visited Helsinki for a few days to attend the ESEC/FSE 2003 conference. Here are a few impressions of the city (sorry for the poor picture quality - I used a decidedly non-digital disposable (but waterproof! :-) camera):

Parliament House Finlandia Hall, the concert and congress center designed by Alvar Aalto down to the finest interior detail Temppeliaukio Church, completely hewn out of the rock of a hill in the city

Old Church of 1826, Helsinki's first Lutheran church and one of the city's few remaining wooden buildings Technical College, formerly the Helsinki University of Technology

Some conference photos can be found on the ESEC/FSE 2003 site - you may find me in some pictures during lunch at the congress center and at the reception in the city hall (look closely at the second row :-)
