Faked e-mails with W32.Klez.gen@mm worm (April 24, 2002)
- It seems that someone is sending out e-mails with a faked "From: mb@matthiasbook.de" header that are infected by a worm of the W32.Klez.gen@mm family. The infected e-mails are 60-160 KB large and contain a few random words in the subject and body. The attached worm exploits a vulnerability in Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express that allows infection even when the e-mail is only previewed. Detailed information and a removal tool are available at the Symantec Security Response site. I would like to stress again that I am not responsible for the infected e-mails.

Parallel Fractal Image Generation paper (July 9, 2001)
- This paper discusses algorithms to implement an in-order output of sequential data generated by a parallel program, using the example of fractal image generation. In order to achieve this, several synchronization techniques (blocking and non-blocking token passing, non-blocking polling) are examined for their suitability. A subsequent performance analysis shows that the parallel algorithm achieves an overproportional speedup over serial algorithms.
